In simple terms, web analytics, also known as "digital analytics," is the process of gathering and analyzing data about website traffic and user behavior. The data gathered will then be used to improve your user journey experience and website performance, resulting in more leads and, ultimately, more sales or conversions.

What is Web Analytics about?

At Wunder, we use tools like Google Analyticsopens-in-a-new-tab, Adobe Analyticsopens-in-a-new-tab, and Matomo Analyticsopens-in-a-new-tab to help our clients understand how their website is performing and identify areas for improvement.

Benefits of web analytics

As with nearly all fields of business, also in digital development, the knowledge and understanding of the current situation is the baseline for success and growth. Collecting and analyzing the data helps to understand the behavior of the users of the digital services, to do A/B-testing, and to provide information on where to invest the existing resources. Analytics can help the organization to understand, even on a deeper level, where to invest: sometimes, it can be marketing and communication actions, and other times the wisest move is to invest in developing digital services. Often the optimal outcome is the combination of them both.

A famous quote by John Wanamaker says: “Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is, I don't know which half.” Nowadays, web analytics provide information that helps us to see what works and what does – and not only in marketing but with nearly all digital interactions happening.

Better understand your website performance: Web analytics can provide you with detailed information on website traffic, user behavior, and conversion rates. This data can help you understand how your website is performing and identify areas for improvement.

Improved user experience: We will help you gain insights on how to improve the user experience on your website by not only tracking and collecting data about your web visitors' actions on your site but also analyzing their behavior to pinpoint any pain points they may face. The result of this is increased engagement and conversion rates.

Marketing effort optimization: Web analytics can help you understand how your marketing campaigns are performing and where to allocate resources for the best results.

Improved ROI: By using data to make informed decisions, you can improve the performance and marketing efforts of your website, resulting in a higher return on investment.
