Would you be interested in utilizing all the know-how of Wunderers in this expertise area? Most probably, yes to both – which is why we have created the Guilds*. Read this article to grasp how our organizational structure benefits you as our client and how we ensure the client’s solutions are success-supporting.

The rapidly changing digital landscape requires more than just adopting the latest technologies - it demands continuous innovation and an unwavering commitment to improving how we deliver value to you. The System Builders Guild is a key player in ensuring that the backend systems you rely on are robust and reliable today and future-proofed for tomorrow’s challenges.

Led by highly experienced backend developers Joonas Meriläinen (long-time AI enthusiast) and Guntis Jakovins (Quality Assurance expert by heart), this team is harnessing the latest advancements like AI, automating quality assurance, and exploring new frameworks like Flutter. This ensures that the systems supporting your business are efficient, scalable, and designed with your business goals and future needs in mind.

How you benefit from the System Builders Guild’s expertise

The System Builders Guild has derived its goals from Wunder’s strategic cornerstones, which include Sustainability via Reusability, Efficiency and Simplicity, Collaboration, and Forward-thinking.

  1. 1

Faster Time-to-Market with Streamlined Project Delivery

We understand that speed is crucial in bringing your products and services to market. That’s why one of the guild’s primary goals is to reduce the time it takes to implement custom search functionalities. By making our existing implementation reusable and improving ways of working with Elasticsearch, we’re aiming to reduce search implementation related work time estimates by 20-30%, meaning your projects are delivered faster and with more predictability - giving you a competitive edge.

  2. 2

    Increased Productivity with AI-Enhanced Development

By integrating AI tools into our development processes, we’re significantly boosting productivity, which means quicker delivery and improved system performance for you. Over the next two months, the goal is for 80% of our System Builder Guild members to regularly use AI tools like Copilot, allowing us to automate repetitive tasks and focus more on solving the complex challenges you face. This ensures that we are continuously optimizing your systems for efficiency. Joonas is also the lead of the AI Group at Wunder, a cross-guild function researching and developing AI solutions to our client projects and internal work.

  3. 3

Higher Quality Systems through Automated Quality Assurance (QA)

You need backend systems that function seamlessly and reliably. By adopting AI-driven QA tools, the guild is increasing test coverage while reducing the time spent on manual testing. For you, this means fewer bugs, more reliable systems, and the peace of mind that your solutions will perform flawlessly - even as they scale. This particular initiative is Guntis' dream come true.

  4. 4

Expanding Expertise to Meet Your Changing Needs

As your business evolves, so do your technology needs. With WordPress being another highly used open-source technology (alongside Drupal), the guild is expanding its ability to develop this particular technology as well. By the end of the year, every member of the guild should have hands-on experience with WordPress, ensuring that we can deliver flexible, tailored solutions that fit your specific requirements.

Future-proofing your backend systems

Our commitment to forward-thinking backend development means we are always looking for ways to improve the digital that powers your business. Whether through adopting AI tools, developing new frameworks like Flutter, or contributing to the open-source community with projects like Drupal StarshotOpens in a new tab, the System Builders Guild is focused on ensuring that your systems are ready to meet the demands of tomorrow. By proactively integrating cutting-edge technologies and refining internal processes, we ensure that you can rely on scalable, efficient systems that support your growth and innovation.

“My goal has always been to make a positive impact within the company by understanding different perspectives and ensuring that no one is overlooked. The guilds are more than just communities of practice - they are the core of our service delivery model, driving knowledge sharing, talent development, and creating solutions that benefit you, the client. Each guild is dedicated to specific technical or professional areas, fostering collaboration and ensuring that we deliver high-quality, tailored solutions.

“I have always been interested in new challenges, and I consider myself a “people person,” so becoming a Guild lead was especially interesting for me. I feel that I have a lot to share, and I can guide others in their careers. I have also been at Wunder almost from the very beginning, so I have a sense of responsibility to help Wunder succeed in any way I can.”
