Wunder’s UK team continues to go from strength-to-strength with the addition of Luke Branford in the role of Consultant. His vast expertise in delivering large scale digital projects and his wide ranging experience across a wide range of digital disciplines will allow us to deliver maximum business value to a wide variety of clients.
Luke is already well known to us after selecting Wunder in his capacity as Product Director at Viacom International to assist the internal Drupal development team with an ambitious project to completely overhaul the company's international website infrastructure. The successfully delivered project spanned multiple territories and brands including MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount & BET. Luke was so impressed with our working practices and company ethos that he’s now decided to join the Wunder team!
“I’ve never really been tempted to join to the agency world, despite a few tempting offers over the years. Agencies always seemed to represent a production line experience, with builds undertaken within tight timeframes to minimise costs before moving onto the next project. Wunder were different, they were constantly focused on delivering business value for every penny spent by Viacom. Their developers were highly skilled and immensely motivated, bolstered by a collaborative atmosphere which permeated right across their organisation. I learnt a lot from them, including how true agile projects should be run, and now look forward to utilising my experience to help Wunder client’s achieve true value from their projects."
After leaving a successful career in construction to pursue a career in the digital industry, an 8 year tenure at Viacom saw Luke promoted 4 times, rising from digital assistant to International Product Director. During this time Luke fulfilled a wide variety of roles, ranging from agile project management, product ownership, digital marketing, content strategy, website & app design and audience monetisation.
In mid-2015, Luke decided to leave Viacom to fulfil his lifelong ambition of becoming an entrepreneur and business owner. The plan was to draw upon upon all his experience to create an innovative new method to succeed in the SMEs website market, utilising technology to automate the identification of potential clients and streamline the production of responsive websites. Despite significant progress on the self-funded venture, significant financial and time pressures forced Luke to set the project aside.
After seeing that Luke was back on the market, we jumped at the chance to get him to join us here at Wunder in the role of Consultant. His experiences within Viacom brings with it invaluable insights into the problems our clients often face when devising, planning, promoting, and funding large digital projects. His broad range of digital experience also helps bolster our knowledge of how projects fit into our client's' wider digital ecosystems and how they can be planned and executed to deliver maximum value right across their businesses.
