Wunder loves Teollisuus 4.0

At the end of August, a virtual event held by Professio, Teollisuus 4.0, gathers together the 200 most important decision-makers and influencers of the Finnish industrial sector. This year, Wunder is the event’s main partner, and we will also go up on stage with our long-term customer Trimble. In our panel discussion, we will go through the opportunities brought by service design and self-service in the digital environment of the B2B world. Note: the event and its info are in Finnish only.

In the spirit of the event’s theme (the fourth industrial revolution), Professio conducted a wide survey for the participants of the eventopens-in-a-new-tab, who are mainly the decision-makers in the industrial sector. An inevitable fact is that the digital revolution affects the industrial sector as well, and they are clearly ready to invest in their digital presence. Here are a few interesting findings from the results of the survey:

  • 84% of the responders work in a company that will invest in their digital services during the next three years
  • Over 40% thinks that creating digital services and enhancing the digital customer experience are topical to improve
  • More than a third of the responders represent a company which development budget for the fiscal year of 2022 is more than a million euros
  • 27% of the responders tell they have started new development projects due to the pandemic, and 30% have increased their development budget to meet the new challenges brought in by the pandemic.

The Teollisuus 4.0 eventopens-in-a-new-tab is held for the third time on Tuesday, 31st of August, and we have received the honour to act as the main partner for this virtual happening. This year, the event’s top themes are: rethink business models, smart manufacturing, and cybersecurity. The virtual event gathers over 200 of the most significant decision-makers and influencers of the Finnish industrial sector. A few examples of the management-level represented companies at the event: Stora Enso, Valio, Kemira, Konecranes, and Valmet.

We will also bring our own example of digital development and service design in the industrial sector, as our CEO Juha Niemi and senior service designer Talvikki Heike share the stage with our long-term customer Trimble Solutions’ global marketing director Kenneth Fogde. In the panel discussion, the trio will go through Trimble and Wunder’s service design case in more detail; why Trimble wanted to develop their digital and self-services, what is the role of service design when re-defining the business, how to build long-term services, and to where has the project lead.

According to Professio’s survey, 37% of the companies will create a digital strategy during the next three years, and a third will put an effort to enhance their digital customer experience. We welcome all the event participants to join us on August 31 at 13:15 (program lineage 2) for our panel discussion.
